NCBA CLUSA member the U.S. Federation of Worker Co-ops (USFWC) is asking worker cooperatives and other democratic workplaces across the U.S. to participate in its annual survey to study the economic impact and social characteristics of worker-owned/managed enterprises.

To be eligible, survey participants should 1.) be worker-owned or operated as a democratic workplace for the entire 2015 calendar year and 2.) provide paid employment for at least two workers. As a condition of membership, USFWC member workplaces are required to participate. Click here to take the survey by October 7, 2016.

Conducted in partnership with the Democracy at Work Institute, survey data will inform USFWC’s annual "State of the Sector" report. This is an opportunity to contribute to a major, ongoing resource that will help shape the future for worker cooperatives in the U.S. The information gathered in this survey enables USFWC to compare worker-owned business with each other and to traditional firms, which begins to paint a national picture of how well our worker-owned enterprises perform.

Advance copies of the survey findings will be available upon request, allowing participants to see how their cooperative experience compares to other worker cooperatives and traditional firms. Information from this year will be compared to prior data to allow for analysis of major changes over time. Survey data and results will be used to inform campaigns to increase policy support, funding access and technical assistance resources for worker ownership.
