Written by Davis Taylor, a Maine economist and board member of the Cooperative Development Institute (CDI), and Rob Brown, director of Business Ownership Solutions at CDI, the article pitches co-op strategies for affordable housing, food system development and the employee ownership conversion opportunities. "Owning Maine’s Future: Fostering a Cooperative Economy in Maine" is based on a project called Cooperatives Build a Better Maine, also by Taylor and Brown.

Brown, who introduced Rep. Chellie Pingree at the legislative breakfast during NCBA CLUSA’s recent Co-op IMPACT Conference, said co-op development thrives under her representation. Pingree, he said, has “built a reputation as a tireless champion for a robust and resilient Maine economy.”
