On Oct. 31, at the United Nations in New York, hundreds of cooperative leaders from around the world gathered for the official launch of the International Year of Cooperatives.
Activities inlcluded a press conference and speeches to the General Assembly by its President Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser of Qatar, Dame Pauline Green of the International Cooperative Alliance and former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
