Co-op Professionals Track: Cooperatives and Employment Regulation – The Member Labor Issue

This session addresses background and experience of member labor practices in food co-ops, the changing landscape of wage and hour regulation and enforcement statutes and regulations, and enforcement approaches.

Thomas Beckett (Co-Director, Carolina Common Enterprise) will chair a discussion called “Future Compliance Strategies and Proactive Engagement with Regulators” with panelists Rebecca Bernhard (Partner, Dorsey & Whitney), a representative from the U.S. Department of Labor and Stuart Reid (Executive Director, Food Co-op Initiative).

The Cooperative Professionals Track of IMPACT 2017 is supported by the Sustainable Economies Law Center, a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider. The Law Center certifies that the Thursday, October 5 sessions have been approved for 1.5 hours of California MCLE credit per session.
