Erosion Control: NCBA CLUSA is seeking a soil management expert to help Senegalese farmers’ groups identify eroded areas, understand the causes and effects of soil erosion and learn some basic tools to prevent and mitigate soil erosion. This assignment is scheduled for June 2013.
Composting: NCBA CLUSA is seeking a soil management expert to help Senegalese farmers’ groups learn how to make compost with the resources they have available, as well as improve their soil fertility management. This assignment is scheduled for August 2013.
Small Livestock Raising and Health: NCBA CLUSA is seeking a volunteer with expertise in sheep and/or goat husbandry to help Senegalese farmers’ groups improve their livestock’s care and health. The dates on this assignment are flexible, but we would like to complete it before the end of September 2013.
Cooperative Development/ Marketing: NCBA CLUSA is seeking experts in organizational development to help two Senegalese farmers’ groups improve their management practices and become more effective advocates for their members. The group members are interested in learning about models for cooperative enterprises. The volunteer will also cover basic marketing techniques and help the farmers’ groups assess the markets they have available to them. This assignment is scheduled for September 2013.
Zambia
Marketing: NCBA CLUSA is seeking experts in marketing to help Zambian farmers’ groups learn basic marketing techniques and help the farmers’ groups assess the markets they have available to them. There are two assignments available during the summer of 2013.
Post Harvest Handling and Storage: NCBA CLUSA is seeking experts in post harvest handling and storage for leafy green vegetable crops to improve the quality of a group of Zambian farmers’ produce. This assignment is scheduled for September 2013.
