For more than 50 years, NCBA’s CLUSA International Program (NCBA/CLUSA) has worked in developing countries to economically empower individuals and communities. We do this through the development of sustainable cooperative businesses and other community-based organizations focused on agriculture and food security, democracy and governance, natural resource management, community-based health programs, and USDA’s Farmer-to-Farmer program. We have worked with these cooperatives and organizations to instill long-term, sustainable and tangible results.
Cooperative development, both at home and abroad, is a critical component of NCBA/CLUSA’s mission. Since 1953 when our work began in India, NCBA/CLUSA has conducted hundreds of projects in over 100 countries worldwide. Working side-by-side with cooperatives and community members, NCBA/CLUSA helps decrease poverty and betters the lives of those we work with.
