NCBA CLUSA is excited to announce that its inaugural Co-op Festival will be held September 30 – October 1, 2017 on the grounds of the National Mall in Washington, D.C.—an unprecedented opportunity to amplify the economic impact, diversity and sustainability of a business model 70 percent of consumers say they already trust.

Designed to kick off Co-op Month, this two-day public awareness event will feature live music, high-profile speakers, games, giveaways and interactive booths to engage thousands of people on the National Mall. The event will also serve as a visual reminder of the success and diversity of the co-op business model to elected officials in the nation’s capital.

“This festival celebrates the broad and diverse impact co-ops have on our daily lives,” said John Torres, event coordinator and vice president of Communication at NCBA CLUSA. “We want people to have fun, learn about co-ops in an interactive space and experience the many ways co-ops help shape their communities.”

By leveraging public recognition of well-known cooperatives, the Co-op Festival will connect the trust consumers say they have for the co-op business model with the brands they already shop, while introducing them to the full spectrum of co-ops building a better world in the U.S. and globally.

Each participating co-op will have a booth space to tell their story and provide information and giveaways for the visiting public. Participation is open to NCBA CLUSA members and cooperative businesses of all sectors, sizes and services. Sponsorship levels and volunteer opportunities are available at coopfestival.coop.
