2013 dotCoop Global Awards – Celebrate your 2012 Activities!

Tuesday, 26 February 2013 11:23

Does your co-op or cooperative organization

  • Use the cooperative principles to promote itself to members and the community?
  • Make cooperative values part of its business planning?
  • Want international recognition for doing this?

If so, then enter the dotCoop Global Awards for Cooperative Excellence! The Global Awards program recognizes the use of cooperative values and principles to drive cooperative and business success.

Now is especially the time to enter if your co-op put an extra effort into educating their communities about the contribution of co-ops economically and socially during the International Year of Cooperatives.

The winning entries in each category will receive $2,000 to help them travel to Cape Town to accept the award in person and share their expertise with other cooperators at the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) General Assembly in November 2013.

The criteria for the award have been updated so that entrants can share information about their 2012 activities and their plans for the "cooperative decade." Although there are more questions, entrants are encouraged to keep answers brief. In addition, there is now a different form for organizations that should make it easier for those entrants to participate.

“Global Award winners in 2011 came from all over the world and from a variety of sectors. We got some great feedback from the judges and entrants in 2011 and have worked on streamlining the entry process for everyone," said dotCoop CEO Carolyn Hoover.

dotCoop welcomes sponsors for the Global Awards. Sponsors are recognized throughout the General Assembly and on the Global Awards website until 2015. Benefits are detailed on the “be a sponsor” page at the Awards website.

Deadline for entries is July 31.
