Administered by the Department of Agriculture, the RCDG program [link to www.rurdev.usda.gov] is the only federal initiative dedicated to building the cooperative development infrastructure to enhance economic opportunity in rural areas. Competitive grants are made available to non-profit cooperative development centers and academic institutions. These funds are used to provide technical assistance to entrepreneurs, farmers, ranchers, and others interested in forming a rural business.
